New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo filed a securities fraud lawsuit against UBS, alleging that the Zurich investment bank marketed billions of dollars in unconventional bonds to investors while improperly claiming they were as safe and liquid as cash.

XM Satellite and Sirius Satellite agreed to pay nearly $20 million in fines for past technical violations, paving the way for federal approval of a merger between the only two U.S. satellite radio providers.
