Schering says FDA to review schizophrenia drug
NEW YORK, Nov 26 (Reuters) - Schering-Plough Corp SGP.N on Monday said the U.S. Food and Drug Administration accepted for review its new drug application for asenapine, which is used to treat schizophrenia.
The company said the FDA will conduct a standard review of the drug, which the company acquired last week through its purchase of Organon BioSciences.
Schering-Plough also said the drug has been used in a clinical trial program involving nearly 3,000 patients. (Reporting by Justin Grant; Editing by David Holmes)
