Eisner's new-media studio rocks out

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Former Walt Disney Co. chairman Michael Eisner's new-media studio Vuguru said Tuesday it is producing its second original series.
Dubbed "The All-for-Nots," the Internet-based comedy series documents the travails of a fictional indie rock band as it travels the United States in search of success.
The series comes from Thom Woodley and Kathleen Grace, the creators of the Internet sitcom "The Burg."
In addition to the series of seven- to 10-minute episodes, additional content from "All-for-Nots" also will be released, including outtakes, interviews, raw footage and music videos from the band. The show is in preproduction.
"All-for-Nots" comes on the heels of Vuguru's production of the scripted drama "Prom Queen," which was nominated for an Emmy for broadband drama program. Vuguru recently announced plans to extend "Prom Queen" with the August release of "Prom Queen Summer Heat."
Vuguru, which launched in March, focuses on story-driven projects designed to be consumed on multiple platforms. The studio is backed by Eisner's investment firm, the Tornante Co.
