Strong earthquake rocks southern Mexico

MEXICO CITY, April 27 (Reuters) - A strong earthquake of magnitude 5.8 shook the southern Mexican state of Guerrero on Sunday and was felt in the capital.

The earthquake hit south of the town of Teloloapan just after 7 p.m. (0000 GMT, Monday) at a depth of 55 miles (88 km), the U.S. Geological Survey said.

There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries from the quake, felt in some parts of Mexico City. (Reporting by Alistair Bell, editing by Jackie Frank)
