Mario Lopez to host "Extra"

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Mario Lopez is taking over as sole host of the Hollywood gossip show "Extra," replacing Dayna Devon and Mark McGrath.

Lopez, a veteran of "Saving by the Bell" and "Dancing with the Stars," had served as a correspondent and co-host of "Extra's" weekend edition. He will begin his new duties in September when the syndicated show launches its 15th season.

"Extra" veteran Devon will stay on as a special correspondent and backup host.

McGrath is leaving the show after a three-year stint to return to his music career. His band Sugar Ray is recording a new album, which will be documented by "Extra."
