Springsteen and E Street Band to tour U.S.
NEW YORK (Reuters) - Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will reunite this fall and tour the United States and Europe, Columbia Records announced on Tuesday.
The first concert, in Hartford, Connecticut, on October 2, coincides with the release of "Magic," Springsteen's first album with the E Street Band since 2002's Grammy-Award winning "The Rising."
The group will perform 30 more concerts through December 19 in the United States, Canada, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, Ireland, France and Britain, said Columbia, which is releasing the "Magic" album.
Springsteen scheduled several shows in or bordering his native New Jersey, including an October 5 date in Philadelphia, October 9-10 shows in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and October 17-18 appearances at New York's Madison Square Garden.
After the North American tour wraps up on November 18 in Boston, they head to Europe for a tour that starts on November 25 in Madrid and ends in London, Columbia said.
Springsteen, 57, made many of his early records with the E Street Band, but after 1987's "Tunnel of Love" album he used the band more sporadically. Through 1999, he toured with different musicians and performed solo.
Columbia said the E Street Band would include Roy Bittan on keyboards, Clarence Clemons on saxophone and percussion, Danny Federici on keyboards, Nils Lofgren on guitars, Patti Scialfa on vocals and guitar, Garry Tallent on bass, Steven Van Zandt on guitars, and Max Weinberg on drums.
