Mexico cenbank to release data earlier in the day
MEXICO CITY, June 29 (Reuters) - Starting in July, Mexico's central bank will release inflation and other data at the earlier time of 9 a.m. (10 a.m. EST, 1400 GMT) instead of the current time of 2:30 p.m., the bank said on Friday.
The central bank said the new time would apply to reports on monthly and twice-monthly inflation, the quarterly current account balance, and its monthly inflation expectations survey. It said the time change was aimed at making data more accessible to the market.
Other data to be released at this time are the central bank's weekly reserves rundown and the quarterly announcement of the amount of dollars it will sell daily.
The time change does not apply to the bank's weekly treasuries auctions, the results of which will still be published on Tuesdays at 1:30 p.m..
After Mexico's daylight saving time ends on Oct. 28, the new data release time of 9 a.m. will correspond to 1500 GMT.
A statement about the time change is posted on the central bank's website at: here{4068824F-CA6F-0A75-5E50-70DF140C1D31}
