Merrill Lynch integrates LatAm, Canada operations

NEW YORK, May 29 (Reuters) - Merrill Lynch & Co announced on Thursday it is integrating its Latin American and Canadian operations, appointing one single executive to head both regions.

James B. Quigley will be president of the investment bank for Latin America and Canada, overseeing wealth management, sales and trading businesses, the firm said in a press statement.

He will report to Gregory J. Fleming, president and chief operating officer of Merrill Lynch.

"Over the next 12 months, we expect this integrated business model to yield many benefits for our clients and Merrill Lynch," Fleming said in the statement. (Reporting by Walter Brandimarte; Editing by Chizu Nomiyama)
