New Jersey reports 5 confirmed cases of H1N1 flu

PHILADELPHIA, April 30 (Reuters) - New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine said on Thursday that five cases of H1N1 influenza have been confirmed in New Jersey residents after the state received test results from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Four of the five infected people recently traveled to Mexico and the fifth to California, Corzine said in a statement. They were aged between 10 and 47. None were hospitalized and all were recovering at home, the statement said.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has confirmed cases in 11 states and state agencies have confirmed cases in another six -- New Jersey, Delaware, Colorado, Minnesota, Georgia and Nebraska. (Reporting by Jon Hurdle; Editing by Daniel Trotta and Jackie Frank)
