Barrick Gold says Peru work operating as normal

LIMA, June 30 (Reuters) - Barrick Gold (ABX.TO)(ABX.N) said Monday that work proceeded normally at its Pierina and Lagunas Norte mines in Peru, where a labor federation has started a nationwide strike.

A union leader had said laborers had walked off the job at Pierina, but that Lagunas Norte would likely be unaffected because workers there do not belong to the union. (Reporting by Marco Aquino; Writing by Terry Wade; Editing by John Picinich)
