Odyssey HealthCare sees 4Q earnings of 7 cents

NEW YORK, Jan 29 (Reuters) - Odyssey HealthCare Inc. (ODSY.O), one of the largest U.S. hospice providers, said it expects fourth-quarter earnings on continuing operations to be about 7 cents a share, subject to an internal review.

Global Markets

Odyssey, which will report fourth-quarter financial results on Feb. 20, said it expects net patient service revenues to be $100 million that quarter. It said it expects earnings per diluted share to be 6 cents to 7 cents a share in the fourth quarter.

It said various charges, including an increase in its litigation reserves, have reduced estimated earnings from continuing operations by 7 cents in the fourth quarter.

It said it "underestimated the impact of certain patient transfers in and out of our programs subject to the Medicare cap."
