Canada fall fiscal update will not include stimulus
OTTAWA, Nov 19 (Reuters) - The Canadian government's autumn economic and fiscal update will not contain new stimulus measures and will not be a mini-budget, a senior government source said on Wednesday.
"There are no expectations of fiscal stimulus (in the update)," the source told reporters after a caucus meeting of the ruling Conservative Party. "There will be some measures but don't expect it to be in the nature of a mini-budget."
Finance Minister Jim Flaherty said on Saturday he would deliver the update next week. The Canadian government committed to stimulus at a summit in Washington on the weekend, but it appeared the government needs more time to craft a package.
