PARIS, April 5 (Reuters) - The board of Airbus parent EADS (EAD.PA) has appointed DaimlerChrysler's head of corporate development, Ruediger Grube, as its next German co-chairman, an industry source told Reuters on Thursday.

An official announcement was expected later in the day.

Franco-German-controlled EADS declined comment.

Grube replaces Manfred Bischoff, who was named chairman of DaimlerChrysler, one of EADS's founding industrial shareholders, at a shareholders' meeting on Wednesday.

EADS has also appointed Daimler official Bodo Uebber to the board as a numerical replacement for Bischoff, the source said.
