Total to sign Syrian oil, gas deals

DAMASCUS, Sept 4 (Reuters) - The chief executive of French oil major Total (TOTF.PA) said on Thursday that Total would sign deals for an oil block extension in Syria and for a gas development deal in the country.

Stocks

Christophe de Margerie added that Total would sign a separate deal to strengthen its activities in Syria.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy is currently on a state visit to Syria.
