GM says China procurement to grow 25 pct a year

BEIJING, Nov 30 (Reuters) - General Motors Corp GM.N, one of the world's top two automakers, will increase its procurement in China by 25 percent a year in the period 2005-2010, a senior executive said on Friday.

Bo Andersson, group vice president in charge of GM's global purchasing and supplier chain, was speaking to reporters.

GM lost more than $12 billion in the past two years, and is in the midst of a sweeping restructuring that includes cutting more than 34,000 jobs and closing 12 plants in North America. ($=7.3824 yuan) (Reporting by Kirby Chien; Editing by Edmund Klamann)
