Samsung Elec sells record 37.4 mln handsets in Q2

SEOUL, July 13 (Reuters) - Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. (005930.KS), the world's third-biggest mobile phone maker, said on Friday it sold a record 37.4 million handsets in the second quarter, up from 34.8 million sold in the first quarter.

The company also said margins at its telecommunications division fell to 8 percent, from 13 percent in the January-March quarter.
