SK Telecom says approached Sprint, no response yet

SEOUL, Nov 30 (Reuters) - SK Telecom (017670.KS), South Korea's top mobile phone operator, said on Friday it approached Sprint Nextel Corp (S.N) with several cooperation measures in mid-November, but hadn't heard back from the U.S. company.

"We requested Sprint's opinion on several cooperation measures including technology, networks and stake investment," an SK telecom spokesman said.

"We have not received any official response from Sprint."

Sprint rejected a $5 billion investment by a group including SK, former chairman Tim Donahue and Providence Equity Partners, a source familiar with the matter said on Thursday. [ID:nN29246589]
