South Korea is said to have proposed to North Korea holding a working-level military meeting in early October, a source from the South Korean government said.

KOREA ECONOMIC DAILY

Tong Yang Insurance Co Ltd is set to discuss a plan to put off its initial public offering scheduled for the second half of the year with its advisors, according to the financial industry.

The government is believed to seek a refugee district for North Korean defectors in a third country such as Thailand and Russia, according to a Grand National Party lawmaker.

The government has officially expressed regret to China over an incident involving the death of a South Korean coast guard in a Chinese fishing boat. The arrested Chinese fishermen used shovels and steel pipes to fight off coast guards.

More than 8 out 10 South Korean companies are having difficulties in raising funds, according to a survey conducted by the Federation of Korean Industries on the top 600 companies.
