SEOUL, June 15 (Reuters) - STX Offshore & Shipbuilding (067250.KS), a South Korean shipbuilder, said on Monday it had won $340 million in orders to build tankers for an unidentified European company.

The total value is for eight tankers, including optional orders for four tankers, STX said in a statement.

The orders mark a signal that the stagnant shipbuilding market, which has seen new orders drying up since late last year, might be heading for a recovery, STX added. (Reporting by Rhee So-eui; Editing by Jonathan Hopfner)
