SEOUL, May 14 (Reuters) - The following is a summary of major South Korean newspapers on Wednesday prepared by Reuters in Seoul. Reuters has not checked the stories and does not guarantee their accuracy.

JOONGANG ILBO

Washington has agreed to South Korea's stance on halting imports of American beef if mad cow disease breaks out in the United States, according to U.S. Trade Representative Susan Schwab.

CHOSUN ILBO

The government has accepted the resignation of 24 heads of state-run companies including Korea Electric Power Corp (KEPCO) (015760.KS), Korea National Oil Corp (KNOC) and Korea Gas Corp (KOGAS) (036460.KS), according to an official at the Knowledge Economy Ministry.

MAEIL BUSINESS NEWSPAPER

South Korea's Samsung C&T Corporation (000830.KS) and Korea Electric Power Corp (KEPCO) (015760.KS) signed a memorandum of understanding with Kazakhstan's state-run electricity supplier to construct a power plant in the central Asian country, a project worth $4.5 billion.

HANKYOREH

Roughly 30 percent of university graduates move to a different company within 20 months of being employed, mainly citing dissatisfaction with their salaries, according to a report from the Korea Employment Information Service.
