DONG-A ILBO
- The U.S. government is expected to announce soon the removal of North Korea from the list of state sponsors of terrorism as the two countries have reached a compromise following the visit of a top U.S. nuclear envoy to Pyonyang, diplomatic sources in Seoul and Washington said.
- The government plans to increase the number of Korean restaurants overseas by four times to 40,000 by 2017 in an attempt to promote Korean food, the agriculture ministry said.
JOONGANG ILBO
- Deputy minister-level meeting between South Korea, the United States and Japan will be held in Washington, the first time in five years, the foreign ministry said.
- President Lee Myung-bak is set to start a regular radio address to the Korean people on Oct. 13 in a bid to communicate with the public and ease public anxiety over worsening economic situations.
KOREA ECONOMIC DAILY
- TSSK, a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan's Tonen Chemical, which is a unit of ExxonMobil Corp (XOM.N), plans to invest $325 million in South Korea by 2014 in a plant and research centre.

- The Seoul Central District Court filed a petition with the Constitutional Court, requesting a ruling as to whether the current law that bans outdoor demonstrations after sunset infringes upon people's right to freedom of expression, the court said.
