Seoul shares retreat; but shipbuilders, Hynix gain

SEOUL, Jan 8 (Reuters) - Seoul shares fell on Thursday snapping 5 consecutive gains as technology issues retreated on earnings worries, but shipbuilders including STX Shipbuilding (067250.KS) rose on expectations for large overseas orders.

The Korea Composite Stock Price Index ended down 1.83 percent at 1,205.70 points.
