SEOUL, Dec 11 (Reuters) - Hynix Semiconductor Inc (000660.KS) on Tuesday said it had successfully offered $583.4 million in unsecured fixed-rate convertible notes due in 2012.
The notes were priced at a yield-to-maturity of 4.5 percent with a conversion premium of 42 percent.The notes are expected to be listed on the Singapore stock exchange on Dec. 17.
Hynix, the world's No. 2 memory chip maker, said it will use the net proceeds from the offering for general corporate purposes, including next year's capital expenditure for capacity expansion.
"Despite the unfavourable market environment, the offering was comfortably 10 times oversubscribed by approximately 150 investors on a worldwide basis," the chip maker said in a statement.
Credit Suisse (CSGN.VX), Goldman Sachs (GS.N), Korea Development Bank, Macquarie Securities, Woori Investment and Securities (005940.KS) and Morgan Stanley (MS.N) led the issuance.
