S.Korea says not clear rocket went into space -Yonhap

Sat Apr 4, 2009 11:48pm EDT
SEOUL, April 5 (Reuters) - The rocket launched by North Korea on Sunday carried a satellite but it is not clear if it actually entered space, South Korea's Yonhap news agency quoted a government official as saying.

"Judging from the coordinates of the rocket's flight, we understand it was a space launch body and not a missile," Yonhap quoted the government official as saying. "What the North launched has been confirmed as a satellite." (Reporting by Jack Kim; editing by John Chalmers)
