S.Korea NPS, Carlyle to buy $362 mln Tokyo building

SEOUL, July 2 (Reuters) - South Korea's National Pension Service (NPS) said on Thursday it and private equity firm The Carlyle Group [CYL.UL] would jointly buy an office building in central Tokyo for about 460 billion won ($362 million).

The purchase of the KDX Toyosu Grandsquare building was part of a plan to buy more global property assets, the world's No. 4 pension fund, managing $200 billion, said in a statement.

"With the investment, NPS is planning to expand direct investments in prime property assets in major cities such as New York, London, Paris and Sydney," the NPS said. ($1=1271.9 Won) (Reporting by Kim Yeon-hee; Editing by Lincoln Feast)
