Beijing Gehua to tie with Liberty Global in China

SHANGHAI, May 30 (Reuters) -Beijing Gehua CATV Network Co (600037.SS), a Beijing-based cable television service provider, said it will form a China joint venture with Liberty Global Inc (LBTYA.O), the world's biggest international cable group.

The venture, requiring investment totalling $100 million, will provide Internet services through Beijing Gehua's network, the Chinese company said in a statement on Friday.

Beijing Gehua said it had agreed to spend $17 million to take a 51 percent stake in the venture, in which China-based investment firm PRC Venture Partners would also own a stake. ($1 = 6.93 yuan) (Reporting by Andrew Torchia; Editing by Edmund Klamann)
