BEIJING/SHANGHAI, June 2 (Reuters) - Chinese newspapers available in Beijing and Shanghai carried the following stories on Monday. Reuters has not checked the stories and does not vouch for their accuracy.

SHANGHAI SECURITIES NEWS

-- The state-owned asset regulator of the Shanghai municipal government has granted Shanghai Bashi Industrial (Group) Co (600741.SS) approval to split off its city bus transportation operations, and has decided to transfer Shanghai Autumotive Industry Corp's unlisted auto parts-related assets to Bashi.

-- The steam turbine unit of earthquake-hit Dongfang Electric Corp (600875.SS) (1072.HK), China's biggest maker of power generating equipment, has received more than 10 billion yuan ($1.44 billion) in orders since a devastating earthquake hit southwest China's Sichuan province last month.

-- Several analysts said China Telecom (0728.HK) may speed up moves to list on the mainland stock market in order to raise funds for the purchase of China Unicom's (0762.HK) CDMA wireless network under China's planned telecoms industry restructuring.

-- The central bank said in a report that pork prices may fall back in the latter half of 2008 and urged a speeding up of the launch of live hog futures trading.
