TABLE-Honda Feb China car sales up 16.1 pct

 SHANGHAI, March 12 (Reuters) - Honda Motor's (7267.T) China
passenger car sales in February rose 16.1 percent from a year
earlier to 31,587 units, lagging a 24.23 percent gain in the
country's overall car market, the company said.

 Honda competes with Toyota Motor (7203.T) and other major
global auto makers in China.
 Guangzhou Honda is Honda's manufacturing joint venture with
Guangzhou Automobile Group Co, which is the parent of Hong
Kong-listed Denway Motors (0203.HK).
 Dongfeng Honda is a tie-up with Dongfeng Motor (0489.HK),
China's third-largest automaker.
