Standard Chartered says no plans for job cuts; focus

HONG KONG, March 17 (Reuters) - Asia-focused UK lender Standard Chartered Plc (STAN.L)(2888.HK) said on Tuesday that it has no plans for job cuts and that it plans to continue its focus on organic growth.

Peter Sands, the bank's chief executive officer, also said during a media briefing that any acquisitions would be focused on Asia, Africa and the Middle East, which are the bank's key markets. (Reporting by Sui-Lee Wee; editing by Ken Wills)
