Stock Market Update - Mon Jun 11 14:30:01 EDT 2007

Mon Jun 11, 2007 2:30pm EDT

[BRIEFING.COM] So much for the bears trying to catch the bulls sleeping about 30 minutes ago as buyers still prove to be in control of today's action. Buyers' efforts, however, aren't nearly as compelling as they were Friday when looking at market internals. As reflected in the A/D line, advancers on the NYSE hold a 17-to-14 edge over decliners while those on the Nasdaq hold an even narrower 15-to-13 margin.

A slim ratio of up to down volume further dictates the lack of conviction on the part of the bulls, especially with oil prices recently closing near session highs and interest rates retracing morning highs going into the close of trading in Treasuries.
