James turns attention to Olympic gold after Cavs' exit
BOSTON (Reuters) - LeBron James turned his attention to winning Olympic gold in Beijing this summer after the Cleveland Cavaliers were eliminated from the NBA playoffs by Boston in Game Seven on Sunday.
"We did a good job last summer of laying down the cornerstone of how we want USA Basketball to be," James said after the Cavaliers' 97-92 loss to the Celtics.
"You look at a team like Spain, Argentina, the list goes on, there's so many teams out there," James said.
"But we're confident and we have one job, one thing at task and that's to win a gold medal."
James, who scored 45 points on Sunday while only one of his team mates managed double figures, will have much more support in Beijing with NBA All-Stars Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard among a talented U.S. squad.
The Americans, with James as a reserve, stumbled badly in Athens in 2004, losing three times in eight games and ending up with the bronze medal behind Argentina and Italy.
