** Russia's Sberbank (SBER03.MM), a partner in the Magna-led (MGa.TO) bid for Germany's Opel, said a July 15 deadline to seal a deal for the carmaker was not firm. [ID:nL0323163]

** As a decision looms over GM's controversial plan to sell its Hummer unit to a little-known Chinese firm, the two Chinese regulators in charge of approving the deal seem to be on opposite sides of the road. [ID:nHKG239049]

** India's Oil & Natural Gas Corp (ONGC.BO) is likely to join hands with a foreign company and put in a bid of $3 billion to $4 billion for a 30 percent stake in an oilfield in Ghana, the Economic Times reported. [ID:nBOM487616]

** China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC) could make a binding offer for up to 75 percent of the Argentine unit YPF of Spanish oil major Repsol (REP.MC) in the next few days, ABC reported, citing sources close to the talks. [ID:nLE277546]

** SB LiMotive, an electric vehicle battery joint venture between South Korea's Samsung SDI (006400.KS) and Germany's Robert Bosch, is acquiring U.S. battery maker Cobasys, Samsung SDI said. [nSEO55008]

** SK Telecom Co (017670.KS), South Korea's top mobile operator, said it was considering bidding for a 51 percent stake in Kazakhtelecom's KZTK.KZ wireless unit Mobile Telecom Service. [ID:nSEO17890]
