SYDNEY, Jan 17 (Reuters) - About 40 investors bought
Commonwealth Bank of Australia's (CBA.AX) A$1.5 billion ($1.3
billion) of three-year notes sold earlier in the week, a CBA
official said on Thursday.
The average ticket size was A$38 million.
Around 20 percent was sold in Asia and Europe, with the
balance placed in Australia.
Banks bought around 30 percent of the offer. These type of
senior notes issued by Australian banks have become more
attractive since the Reserve Bank of Australia last year
allowed them to be used as collateral in repurchase agreements.
The balance of the issue was shared between local state
authorities, fund managers and middle-market participants, CBA
said.
