Lion Nathan, C-C Amatil in merger talks-paper

 SYDNEY, Nov 17 (Reuters) - Lion Nathan Ltd LNN.AX,
Australia's second-largest brewer, and soft drinks group
Coca-Cola Amatil Ltd (CCL.AX) are in merger talks to create an
A$11 billion ($7.09 billion) company, the Australian Financial
Review reported on Monday.
 Discussions have intensified in recent weeks with the
involvement of both parent companies in the talks, the paper
said without citing sources.
 Lion Nathan is 46 percent owned by Japan's Kirin Brewery Co
(2503.T) and Coca-Cola Amatil is 30 percent owned by U.S.-based
The Coca-Cola Company (KO.N).
