MELBOURNE, May 23 (Reuters) - Babcock & Brown Power Ltd BNB.AX Chief Executive Paul Simshauser said the group has little interest in the planned privatisation of power assets by Australia's New South Wales state government.

"We've got a lot on our plate at the moment, and we need to focus on making sure we've got our existing assets in a safe and stable shape that we're comfortable with," he told analysts and reporters. ($1=A$1.05) (Reporting by Sonali Paul)
