Murchison ups interest in Midwest to 10 pct

SYDNEY, May 26 (Reuters) - Murchison Metals Ltd (MMX.AX) has increased its voting stake in fellow Western Australia iron ore prospector Midwest Corp MIS.AX to 9.98 percent, according to a shareholder notice filed with the Australian Stock Exchange.

China

The stake was increased from 4.78 percent previously.

Murchison failed in an unsolicited offer for Midwest earlier this year, with Midwest subsequently accepting a revised A$1.36 billion ($1.3 billion) offer from China's Sinosteel.
