Rio Tinto's Coal & Allied Q3 output falls 8 pct

SYDNEY, Oct 15 (Reuters) - Rio Tinto Ltd/Plc (RIO.AX) subsidiary Coal & Allied Ltd's (CNA.AX) third quarter coal output fell 8 percent against the previous quarter, the company said on Wednesday.

It said its Hunter Valley coal operations were affected by maintenance work during the third quarter.

Production totaled 4.413 million tonnes during the quarter compared with 4.788 million tonnes in the second quarter, Coal & Allied, 75.7 percent owned by Rio (RIO.L), said. ($1=A$1.43
