SYDNEY, July 10 (Reuters) - Standard & Poor's has raised its long- and short-term credit ratings on global miner Rio Tinto Ltd (RIO.AX) (RIO.L) following its $15.2 billion rights issue, the international ratings agency said on Friday.

S&P raised both ratings to BBB-plus from BBB with a stable outlook. The rights issue has improved the company's risk profile, S&P said in a statement. (Reporting by Anirban Nag; Editing by James Thornhill)
