TOKYO, July 1 (Reuters) - Automobile sales in Japan,
excluding 660cc minivehicles, fell 13.5 percent in June from a
year earlier to 243,342 vehicles, the Japan Automobile Dealers
Association said on Wednesday.
Sales at top-ranked Toyota Motor Corp (7203.T), excluding the
Lexus brand, fell 11.4 percent, while Nissan Motor Co (7201.T)
fell 20.8 percent and Honda Motor Co (7267.T) gained 5.7 percent.
June marked the 11th successive month of year-on-year
decline, even though there was one extra day for registration
compared with the year-earlier month.
For the January to June period, sales totalled 1,303,766
units, down 26.4 percent from a year earlier.
