Nikkei down 0.6 percent as Honda, Canon sold

TOKYO, Sept 21 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average fell 0.6 percent on Friday, led by selling of exporters such as Honda Motor Co Ltd (7267.T) and Canon Inc (7751.T) after a fall on Wall Street and gains in the yen versus the dollar.

Sharp (6753.T) fell 2 percent to 1,917 yen, while Pioneer (6773.T) shed 3.4 percent to 1,354 yen following the consumer electronics makers' announcement of a capital alliance on Thursday.

The benchmark Nikkei .N225 ended the morning session down 103.70 points at 16,310.09. The broader TOPIX index fell 1.14 percent to 1,548.94.
