TOKYO, May 31 (Reuters) - Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. (7011.T) has won an order for 788 wind turbine power generation systems from five U.S. power companies in a deal Japanese media said is worth about 160 billion yen ($1.32 billion).

Mitsubishi Heavy, Japan's largest heavy machinery maker, said on Wednesday that the systems ordered would be able to collectively generate 1,363.4 megawatts of power, almost equal to Japan's total wind turbine power capacity.

The company did not put a value on the order, but Kyodo news agency estimated it was worth 160 billion yen.
