Japan Apr wage earnings revised up but growth tame

 TOKYO, June 17 (Reuters) - Japanese wage earners' total cash
earnings rose 0.8 percent in April from a year earlier, revised
data showed on Tuesday, a smaller increase than in March and
pointing to tame wage gains despite rising inflation.
 The revised figure compared with a preliminary 0.6 percent
rise and followed a 1.5 percent increase in March. [JPOVRT=ECI]
 It was the fourth straight month of increase in cash
earnings, which include overtime pay, monthly wages and special
payments. Cash earnings came to 281,700 yen ($2,603).
 Many companies, remembering the pain of business
restructuring over the past decade, have been reluctant to
increase wages.
 The following table shows revised data on April monthly
income, with year-on-year percentage changes:
