BOJ's Fukui to appear in parliament from 0100 GMT

TOKYO, Feb 22 (Reuters) - Bank of Japan (BOJ) Governor Toshihiko Fukui will appear before a parliamentary committee on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:20 a.m. (0100-0220 GMT), a parliamentary official said.

Fukui will answer questions to the upper house committee on financial issues, he added.

The central bank raised interest rates by a quarter percentage point to 0.5 percent on Wednesday, saying the economy remained on a steady growth path.
