Topix up 2 pct as Fast Retailing gains on outlook

TOKYO, April 11 (Reuters) - Japan's broad Topix index rose 2 percent on Friday, boosted by shares of retailers such as Fast Retailing Co (9983.T) on solid earnings expectations, while Astellas Pharma Inc (4503.T) climbed after U.S. authorities approved its heart-imaging agent.

As of 0354 GMT, the TOPIX index climbed 2 percent to 1,272.52.

The benchmark Nikkei average .N225 gained 2.6 percent to 13,284.09. (Reporting by Aiko Hayashi)
