Japan's Chubu to restart Hamaoka No.5 reactor

TOKYO, June 23 (Reuters) - Japanese utility Chubu Electric Power Co (9502.T) said on Tuesday it would restart its 1,267-megawatt No.5 reactor at its sole Hamaoka nuclear power plant for the first time in nearly six months on Thursday after an unplanned shutdown.

The company had manually shut the unit on Dec. 30 after irregular gas conditions within the unit caused an alarm to go off. (Reporting by Osamu Tsukimori)
