Nikkei up 0.2 pct after further gains on Wall St.

TOKYO, Aug 3 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average rose 0.21 percent on Friday with investors picking up exporters such as Sony Corp. (6758.T) after another day of gains on Wall Street and a slightly softer yen.

The Nikkei .N225 was up 35.69 points at 17,019.80 as of 0001 GMT.

The broader TOPIX index added 0.41 percent to 1,676.16.
