Sharp says considering LCD tie-up with Toshiba

TOKYO (Reuters) - Sharp Corp said on Friday that it was considering an alliance with Toshiba Corp in liquid crystal display (LCD) panels but that nothing had been decided yet.

Sharp's comment came in response to a Nikkei business daily report that Toshiba would likely procure LCD panels from a new factory that Sharp is building in Osaka prefecture, and that the two would deepen ties in image-processing chips.
