Toshiba eyes rare metals JV with Kazatomprom in '09

TOKYO, Oct 23 (Reuters) - Toshiba Corp (6502.T) said on Friday that it aims to set up a joint venture by year-end with Kazakhstan state-owned firm Kazatomprom on the procurement of rare metals, eyeing growing demand for materials such as rare earth, used in motors for electric vehicles.
