BOJ Fukui: Need stable growth to avoid stagflation

TOKYO, Jan 11 (Reuters) - Bank of Japan Governor Toshihiko Fukui said on Friday that the central bank strives to pave a stable growth path for the Japanese economy before the risk of stagflation emerges.

"We still have some time before facing such a phenomenon," Fukui told the lower house financial committee.

"Before risks of stagflation appear, we must pave the way for the economy to follow a stable path." (Reporting by Tetsushi Kajimoto)
