BOJ's Shirakawa: forex should reflect fundamentals

TOKYO, April 16 (Reuters) - Bank of Japan Governor Masaaki Shirakawa said on Wednesday that foreign exchange rates should reflect economic fundamentals.

"We will carefully watch exchange rates as they will affect the economy," Shirakawa told a lower house financial committee. (Reporting by Yuzo Saeki)
